Universal "Cure"
for Electronic Devices
- Turn the device OFF
- Remove power [i.e., unplug or remove batteries] for five minutes
- Operate all switches, press all buttons at least once [more can't hurt!]
- Apply power again [i.e., plug in or replace batteries
- Turn the the device on and try it.
- If that doesn't work, repeat, but leave power off for a half-hour or so.
That's it!
You'd be surprised how many devices this simple technique can and has fixed.
Why does it work? Part of the answer may be discharging capacitors that have stored an electrical charge and are still keeping a circuit in an "ON" state. Operating switches, pressing buttons and waiting with power removed from the device helps dissipate these charges.
